  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken breasts
  • 3 cups fresh broccoli florets, steamed until tender-crisp
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
  2. Steam the broccoli florets in a medium saucepan for about 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
  3. Cook and shred the chicken breasts if not using pre-cooked chicken.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  5. Spread the steamed broccoli evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Layer the shredded chicken on top, followed by the creamy sauce.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the casserole. In a small bowl, mix bread crumbs with melted butter, then scatter them over the cheese layer.
  7. Bake the casserole in the oven for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown on top.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.
