A quick and easy recipe to make a smooth, velvety Irish cream coffee with a perfect balance of whiskey, cream, and subtle cocoa and vanilla notes. Ideal for cozy mornings or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whiskey (preferably Irish whiskey like Jameson)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream (or full-fat coconut cream for dairy-free version)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee granules
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the instant coffee granules and cocoa powder in a small bowl with 1 tablespoon of hot water. Stir until completely dissolved (about 2 minutes).
  2. In a blender or mixing jar, pour in the heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk. Blend or whisk gently for 30 seconds just to combine.
  3. Add whiskey, the dissolved coffee-cocoa mixture, vanilla extract, and optional almond extract. Blend on medium speed for 1 minute until smooth and slightly frothy.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or coffee strength by adding more condensed milk or instant coffee if desired. Blend briefly again if adjusted.
  5. Chill the Irish cream in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving for best texture, or serve immediately if preferred.

Notes

Use good-quality whiskey for best flavor. Dissolve instant coffee granules fully to avoid gritty texture. Chill for at least 1 hour to let flavors meld and thicken. Shake before serving as ingredients may separate. Avoid adding Irish cream to boiling hot coffee to prevent curdling.
