These crispy bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers combine spicy jalapeños, creamy cheese filling, and smoky bacon for an addictive appetizer perfect for parties or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 medium-sized fresh jalapeños, halved and seeded
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 12 thin-cut bacon slices
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Wearing gloves, slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds and membranes if you prefer less heat.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix until smooth.
  4. Fill each jalapeño half generously with the cheese mixture using a spoon or small scoop.
  5. Wrap one slice of thin-cut bacon around each filled jalapeño half. Secure with a toothpick if needed.
  6. Place the bacon-wrapped poppers seam side down on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and the filling is bubbling. Watch closely near the end to prevent burning.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Use gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid skin irritation. Thin-cut bacon crisps faster and wraps easier. Avoid overfilling the jalapeños to prevent filling from spilling. For extra crispy bacon, bake on a wire rack over the baking sheet. Watch the oven closely near the end of cooking to prevent burning. Poppers can be prepared ahead and refrigerated before baking. Reheat leftovers in the oven to maintain crispness.
