These air fryer pork chops are coated in a crunchy Parmesan and herb breading, delivering juicy, flavorful comfort food with less oil and mess. Perfect for busy weeknights, family dinners, or impressing guests with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless or bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick, 1.1–1.5 lbs total)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Olive oil spray
  • Optional: pinch cayenne pepper
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Pat pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  2. Set up breading station: Place flour in one shallow bowl, beaten eggs in a second, and combine panko, Parmesan, Italian herbs, garlic powder, and paprika in a third bowl.
  3. Dredge each pork chop in flour, shaking off excess. Dip into beaten eggs, then press firmly into breadcrumb mixture until well coated.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 400Β°F for 3 minutes.
  5. Arrange breaded pork chops in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly mist both sides with olive oil spray.
  6. Air fry for 10 minutes. Flip gently with tongs, spray top side again, and cook an additional 6–8 minutes until internal temperature reaches 145Β°F and crust is golden brown.
  7. Transfer cooked pork chops to a wire rack or plate. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra crispy breading, chill breaded chops for 15 minutes before air frying. Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking. Gluten-free and dairy-free substitutions work well. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed. Leftovers reheat best in the air fryer.
