A quick and easy crispy club sandwich with layers of toasted bread, turkey, bacon, cheese, fresh veggies, and a tangy homemade mayo spread. Perfect for lunch or gatherings with a satisfying crunch and balanced flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices white or whole wheat sandwich bread, lightly toasted
  • 6 slices cooked turkey breast or chicken
  • 6 slices crispy bacon, thick-cut preferred
  • 3 slices sharp cheddar or Swiss cheese
  • 1 large ripe tomato, sliced thin
  • 1 cup fresh iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 46 dill pickle slices
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Pinch of smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread slices until golden and crisp, about 2-3 minutes in a toaster or toaster oven.
  2. Cook the bacon in a cold non-stick skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, flipping occasionally until crisp. Drain on paper towels.
  3. Mix mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and smoked paprika in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  4. Slice the tomato thinly (about 1/4-inch thickness) and slice the pickles as preferred.
  5. Spread a thin layer of mayo mixture on one toasted bread slice. Layer smoked turkey slices, a slice of cheddar cheese, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  6. Place a second toasted bread slice on top. Spread mayo on both sides. Layer crispy bacon strips, tomato slices, and shredded lettuce.
  7. Top with the last toasted bread slice, spread mayo on the underside. Gently press the sandwich together without squashing the crispness.
  8. Cut the sandwich diagonally into quarters, securing each quarter with a toothpick if needed. Serve immediately.

Notes

Toast bread well to prevent sogginess and add crunch. Cook bacon slowly over medium heat for even crispness. Use cold lettuce and tomatoes for freshness. Spread mayo thinly but evenly. Cut sandwich diagonally for easier handling. For gluten-free, use gluten-free bread; for dairy-free, omit cheese or use plant-based alternatives. Adding lemon juice to mayo spread can lighten thickness.
