This indulgent, gooey dessert combines rich chocolate cake mix with creamy peanut butter and melted peanut butter cups for a nostalgic treat that’s quick and easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup peanut butter cups, chopped or whole
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, melted butter, and milk. Whisk until smooth and well combined.
  3. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  4. Drizzle a layer of creamy peanut butter over the batter and spread gently.
  5. Sprinkle half of the chopped peanut butter cups evenly over the peanut butter layer.
  6. Pour the remaining cake batter over the candy layer, spreading it out to cover everything.
  7. Top with the remaining peanut butter cups and optional chocolate chips.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Let the cake cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
