Easy Marshmallow Rice Krispies Brains Recipe for Halloween Fun

Marshmallow Rice Krispies Brains - featured image

A spooky yet playful Halloween snack that combines the nostalgic crunch of Rice Krispies with the sticky sweetness of marshmallows, shaped into creepy brain-like forms.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons (43g) unsalted butter
  • 10 ounces (283g) mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups (150g) Rice Krispies cereal
  • Red food coloring
  • Cooking spray
  • Optional decorations: candy eyeballs, edible glitter, gel icing

Instructions

  1. Heat 3 tablespoons (43g) of unsalted butter in a large saucepan over medium heat until melted.
  2. Add 10 ounces (283g) of mini marshmallows to the pan, stirring continuously until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and gently stir in 6 cups (150g) of Rice Krispies cereal, making sure the cereal is evenly coated.
  4. Add a few drops of red food coloring and mix thoroughly until the color is evenly distributed. For a more realistic look, swirl the coloring lightly rather than fully mixing.
  5. Let the mixture cool slightly, just enough to handle safely. Spray your hands with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  6. Shape the mixture into brain-like forms. To do this, form small oval shapes and use your fingers to create indentations and ridges for a realistic texture.
  7. Place the shaped brains onto wax paper and allow them to cool and set for about 30 minutes.
  8. Decorate as desired—add candy eyeballs, drizzle with red gel icing, or sprinkle with edible glitter for extra spooky vibes!

Notes

[‘Work quickly to shape the brains while the mixture is still warm.’, ‘Adjust the amount of food coloring for your desired level of creepiness.’, ‘Use gloves if the mixture is too sticky.’, ‘Be creative with decorations like gel icing or gummy worms.’]
