These easy, no-bake Peanut Butter Protein Energy Balls are a wholesome snack packed with creamy peanut butter, oats, and protein powder. Perfect for meal prep, post-workout fuel, or a healthy treat for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter (unsweetened, natural preferred)
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup vanilla protein powder
  • 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds (optional)
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional, use dairy-free if needed)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional add-ins: ground flaxseed, shredded coconut, raisins or dried cranberries, chopped nuts, cinnamon or cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and measure them out.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine peanut butter, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and well blended.
  3. Add rolled oats, protein powder, chia seeds, salt, and any optional add-ins. Mix with a spatula until evenly incorporated. If the mixture is too dry, add 1-2 tablespoons more peanut butter or honey. If too wet, add extra oats or protein powder.
  4. Fold in the mini chocolate chips (or other mix-ins) until distributed.
  5. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion out the mixture. Roll between your hands to form balls about 1 inch in diameter. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Refrigerate energy balls for at least 30 minutes to set.
  7. Transfer to an airtight container. Enjoy immediately or store for later.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for easier mixing. For vegan, use maple syrup and plant-based protein powder. For gluten-free, use certified gluten-free oats. If mixture is too sticky, chill for 10 minutes before rolling. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months. Kids love helping roll the balls—expect a little mess!
