A quick and easy pull-apart slider bar featuring soft buttery buns, juicy ground beef, and three distinct sauces for a customizable and crowd-pleasing meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package slider buns (12 count, soft and buttery; King’s Hawaiian preferred)
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • For the Spicy Chipotle Mayo: ½ cup mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon chipotle in adobo sauce (minced), 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • For the Honey Mustard Sauce: ¼ cup Dijon mustard, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • For the Classic BBQ Sauce: ½ cup smoky BBQ sauce (e.g., Sweet Baby Ray’s)
  • Optional fillings: 12 slices cheddar cheese, pickle slices, fresh lettuce leaves or spinach

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Set your baking dish aside.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until no longer pink and slightly caramelized, about 7-9 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. While the beef cooks, whisk together each sauce in separate bowls: combine mayo, chipotle, and lime juice for spicy chipotle mayo; mix Dijon, honey, and vinegar for honey mustard; keep BBQ sauce as is.
  4. Slice the slider buns horizontally if not pre-sliced. Arrange the bottom halves in the baking dish close together but not overlapping.
  5. Spread half of the cooked beef evenly over the bottom bun layer. Add a layer of cheddar slices (if using), then a few pickle slices and some lettuce or spinach leaves.
  6. Place the top halves of the buns over the fillings to create a pull-apart effect.
  7. Brush the tops generously with melted butter.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until cheese is melted and buns are lightly toasted.
  9. Serve warm with the three sauces arranged in small bowls for dipping.

Notes

You can prep sliders up to the buttering step and refrigerate for up to 4 hours before baking. Let them come to room temperature before baking. Watch closely in the last 5 minutes to avoid over-browning. Warming sauces slightly before serving enhances flavor. For gluten-free, use gluten-free buns and verify BBQ sauce ingredients. Vegetarian options include seasoned black beans or lentils with sautéed mushrooms.
