  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (regular or low sodium)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (or avocado oil)
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley or green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rinse 1 lb (450g) peeled and deveined shrimp under cold water, then pat dry thoroughly with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together 3 tablespoons honey, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 teaspoon rice vinegar, minced 4 cloves garlic, and optional 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering but not smoking.
  4. Add shrimp to the hot pan in a single layer. Cook undisturbed for about 2 minutes until shrimp start turning pink on one side. Flip and cook another 1-2 minutes until opaque and cooked through.
