Refreshing Strawberry Daiquiri

refreshing strawberry daiquiri recipe - featured image

A quick and easy homemade icy summer drink blending fresh strawberries, lime, rum, and sugar into a smooth, frosty cocktail perfect for beating the heat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 oz white rum
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 to 1 ½ cups ice cubes or crushed ice
  • Optional: fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash, hull, and slice about 1 cup (150 grams) of fresh strawberries. If using frozen strawberries, skip this step.
  2. Roll a fresh lime on the counter to soften, cut in half, and juice to get about 1 oz (30 ml) of fresh lime juice, removing seeds.
  3. Combine the sliced strawberries, 2 oz (60 ml) white rum, freshly squeezed lime juice, and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar in a blender.
  4. Add 1 to 1 ½ cups (240-360 ml) of ice cubes or crushed ice to the blender.
  5. Blend on low speed gradually increasing to high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and slushy but not watery. Pulse if needed to break up ice chunks.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if desired, blending briefly again. If too thick, add a splash of water or extra lime juice.
  7. Pour the daiquiri into chilled glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves or a strawberry on the rim.

Notes

Use frozen strawberries to reduce the amount of ice needed and keep the drink icier. Pulse blending to avoid melting ice and watery texture. Chill glasses beforehand for best experience. Clean blender immediately after use to avoid sticky residue.
