A quick and easy no-bake dessert combining cinnamon-sugar churros with a creamy, airy cream cheese mixture for a tiramisu-inspired treat without espresso.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 810 cinnamon sugar churros (frozen or freshly baked, thawed slightly if frozen)
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1/3 cup (40 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon, plus extra for dusting
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. If frozen, thaw churros at room temperature for 10-15 minutes. Cut each churro into bite-sized pieces (about 1 inch).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together milk and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon to make cinnamon milk soak.
  3. Quickly dip churro pieces into the cinnamon milk mixture for about 3 seconds on each side. Place soaked churros in a single layer on a plate.
  4. In a chilled mixing bowl, beat cold heavy cream with an electric mixer on medium-high until soft peaks form (2-3 minutes).
  5. In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth and creamy.
  6. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture using a spatula to keep it airy and light.
  7. Spoon a layer of cream mixture into the bottom of each serving cup (about 2 tablespoons). Add a layer of soaked churro pieces on top (3-4 pieces). Repeat layers until cups are filled, finishing with cream on top.
  8. Cover cups with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld and cream to firm up. Overnight is better if possible.
  9. Just before serving, dust the tops with a sprinkle of cinnamon and optionally add a small churro piece on top for decoration.

Notes

Do not over-soak churros to avoid mushiness. Keep cream cold for best whipping results. Fold whipped cream gently into cream cheese to maintain airy texture. Use softened cream cheese at room temperature for smoothness. If cream is too thick after chilling, let sit at room temperature for 5 minutes and stir gently before serving.
