A quick and easy recipe for crispy apple chips coated in cinnamon sugar, air fried to perfection, served with a creamy vanilla yogurt dip. A wholesome, guilt-free snack or light dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Fuji or Honeycrisp preferred, Granny Smith optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1 cup vanilla yogurt (plain or vanilla-flavored, Greek yogurt recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional for dip sweetness)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, to prevent browning)
  • Non-stick cooking spray (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and core the apples. Using a mandoline slicer or sharp knife, slice the apples very thinly—about 1/8 inch (3 mm) thick.
  2. Toss the apple slices in a mixing bowl with 1 tablespoon lemon juice if using, to avoid browning.
  3. In a small bowl, combine 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon with 2 tablespoons granulated sugar. Stir to blend evenly.
  4. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the apple slices and toss gently to coat every slice evenly.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  6. Arrange the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping. Cook in batches if necessary.
  7. Air fry at 300°F (150°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through (around 8-10 minutes).
  8. Transfer the cooked apple chips to a wire rack or parchment paper to cool completely, about 5-10 minutes.
  9. While the chips cook, mix 1 cup vanilla yogurt with 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup in a small bowl. Stir until smooth and chill until serving.
  10. Serve the apple chips alongside the vanilla yogurt dip.

Notes

Use firm apples like Fuji or Honeycrisp for best crispiness. Thin, even slices (about 1/8 inch) are key to avoid burning or sogginess. Flip chips halfway through cooking for even browning. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Store chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days; re-crisp in air fryer if softened. Vanilla yogurt dip can be made vegan by using dairy-free yogurt and swapping honey for maple syrup.
