A quick and easy appetizer featuring frozen meatballs glazed in a sweet and tangy cranberry BBQ sauce, served on toasted slider buns. Perfect for parties or last-minute gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds frozen beef meatballs (fully cooked)
  • 1 (14-ounce) can cranberry sauce (jellied or whole berry)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 package Hawaiian rolls or mini brioche slider buns
  • Butter, for brushing buns
  • Optional: Sharp cheddar cheese slices
  • Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place frozen meatballs on the baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway, until browned and crispy. Alternatively, pan-fry in oil over medium-high heat for 8-10 minutes.
  3. While meatballs cook, combine cranberry sauce and BBQ sauce in a large skillet over medium heat. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until smooth and slightly thickened.
  4. Add the crispy meatballs to the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently to coat evenly and simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Split slider buns in half and brush cut sides with melted butter.
  6. Toast buns cut-side down in a dry skillet or under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Assemble sliders by placing a meatball on the bottom bun half. Add cheese if desired, then top with the bun half.
  8. Serve immediately, drizzling with extra sauce from the pan.

Notes

Toast the buns to prevent sogginess. If the sauce is too thin, simmer longer; if too thick, add a splash of water or vinegar. For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes or use a spicy BBQ sauce. Flavors improve if meatballs sit in sauce overnight.
