A quick and easy recipe for protein-packed energy balls made with just three simple ingredients: almond butter, dark chocolate chips, and vanilla protein powder. Perfect for a wholesome snack on the go.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) creamy unsweetened almond butter
  • 1 cup (175 g) dark chocolate chips (at least 70% cacao)
  • 1/3 cup (35 g) vanilla protein powder (plant-based or whey)
  • Optional: pinch of sea salt
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions

  1. Measure 1 cup almond butter, 1 cup dark chocolate chips, and 1/3 cup vanilla protein powder.
  2. In a mixing bowl, stir together almond butter and protein powder until fully combined, about 2 minutes.
  3. Fold in the dark chocolate chips gently, about 1 minute, keeping their shape.
  4. Scoop out small portions (about 1 tablespoon or 15 g each) and roll into balls. If mixture is too sticky, wet hands slightly or refrigerate dough for 10 minutes.
  5. Place balls on a baking sheet or plate lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
  6. Transfer the firm protein balls to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

If almond butter is thick, add about 1 teaspoon almond milk to loosen mixture for easier rolling. Avoid over-mixing after adding chocolate chips to maintain texture. Chill mixture to help balls hold shape. Wet hands or refrigerate dough if sticky.
