A quick and easy frozen slush made with fresh strawberries, frozen mango chunks, and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Perfectly balanced, icy cold, and sweet-tart, this summer drink is a crowd-pleaser for all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved (about 150g)
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks (about 165g)
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 120ml)
  • 1 cup cold water (about 240ml)
  • 23 tablespoons sugar or honey (25-45g), adjust to taste
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes (optional, about 120ml) if using fresh mango instead of frozen

Instructions

  1. Rinse the strawberries, hull them by removing the green tops, and cut in halves or quarters depending on size. If using fresh mango, peel and chop into 1-inch chunks.
  2. Roll lemons on the counter to loosen juices, then halve and use a juicer to extract about 1/2 cup (120ml) fresh lemon juice. Strain seeds for smoothness.
  3. Add the strawberries, frozen mango chunks, lemon juice, cold water, sugar or honey, and a pinch of salt into the blender jar.
  4. Start blending on low and gradually increase speed to high. Blend until the mixture is smooth and slushy with no large chunks. If too thick, add a splash more water; if too thin, add a few ice cubes and pulse.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or lemon juice as needed by blending in more sugar, honey, or lemon juice.
  6. Pour into chilled glasses and serve immediately. Garnish with a lemon slice or fresh strawberry if desired.

Notes

Use frozen mango chunks for best icy texture; if using fresh mango, add ice cubes. Add a pinch of salt to balance sweetness and tartness. For a tropical twist, substitute water with coconut water. To prep ahead, blend base without ice or frozen fruit, freeze in ice cube trays, then blend cubes when ready to serve. Avoid overfilling blender for best results.
