A quick and easy frozen watermelon margarita with a spicy Tajin rim, perfect for summer parties and backyard gatherings. This refreshing cocktail balances sweet watermelon, tangy lime, and a salty-spicy kick.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cubed seedless watermelon (fresh and ripe)
  • 1 cup tequila blanco (Espolòn recommended)
  • ½ cup fresh lime juice (about 45 limes)
  • ¼ cup triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup (adjust based on watermelon sweetness)
  • 3 cups ice cubes
  • Tajin seasoning for rimming glasses
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sea salt (optional, mixed with Tajin for rim)

Instructions

  1. Mix 2 tablespoons Tajin seasoning with 1 tablespoon coarse sea salt on a small plate.
  2. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of each glass to moisten, then dip rims into the Tajin-salt mixture. Set aside to dry slightly.
  3. Cut fresh watermelon into chunks, removing seeds if needed. Measure 4 cups and place in blender.
  4. Pour in 1 cup tequila blanco, ½ cup fresh lime juice, ¼ cup triple sec, and 2 tablespoons agave syrup.
  5. Add 3 cups ice cubes to the blender.
  6. Pulse blender on high for 1-2 minutes until slushy and smooth, scraping sides occasionally.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness with more agave syrup or thin with water or lime juice if needed.
  8. Pour into prepared glasses, garnish with a watermelon wedge or lime wheel, and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Chill glasses before rimming to keep margarita colder longer. Pulse blender in bursts to avoid melting ice. Adjust agave syrup based on watermelon sweetness. Let rim seasoning dry before pouring drink to ensure it sticks well.
