A quick and easy deviled eggs recipe inspired by everything bagel flavors, featuring creamy cream cheese, briny capers, and a crunchy everything bagel seasoning topping. Perfect for appetizers and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs, hard-boiled and peeled
  • 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon capers, drained and chopped
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons everything bagel seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place 6 large eggs in a single layer in a medium saucepan. Cover with cold water by about an inch. Bring to a rolling boil over medium-high heat (about 8 minutes). Immediately transfer eggs to a bowl of ice water to chill for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Gently tap each egg on the counter and peel under cold running water to remove shells cleanly. Pat dry with paper towels and slice each egg in half lengthwise.
  3. Carefully scoop out the yolks into a mixing bowl. Mash the yolks with a fork or potato masher until crumbly and fine.
  4. Mix in 4 oz (115 g) softened cream cheese, 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, and 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice. Stir until smooth and creamy. If the mixture feels too thick, add a tiny splash of milk or more mayo, one teaspoon at a time, until spreadable.
  5. Chop 1 tablespoon of drained capers finely and gently fold them into the yolk mixture. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  6. Using a spoon or piping bag, evenly fill each egg white half with the yolk mixture, creating a mound or swirl for presentation.
  7. Generously top each deviled egg with 1 to 2 teaspoons of everything bagel seasoning. Add a pinch of chopped fresh chives if desired.
  8. Refrigerate deviled eggs for at least 15 minutes to let flavors meld. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

Use the ice bath method to make peeling easier. Soften cream cheese before mixing for smooth filling. Piping the filling looks nicer but a spoon works fine. Add everything bagel seasoning just before serving to keep it crunchy. Can be made ahead by boiling and peeling eggs a day before and assembling a few hours before serving.
